The Greatest Christmas Present Ever.

Yes, this is a little belated. But, hey, I'm a busy girl! (Plus I completely forgot about this)

Meet.. (if you haven't already).. Rudy!

Rudy is a border collie puppy. He is named after Rudolf because he was a Christmas present! This picture was taken soon after we got Rudy. At the time he was 6 weeks old. Needless to say, puppies grow... a lot. Rudy has not stopped! He's looks like a completely different dog these days!

Here's the Rudy that is now begging to go play in the rain...

Rudy is a very smart boy. Too smart for his own good in many cases. He can sit, come (sometimes), stay, shake, fetch (although he does like to be chased when he's got the ball in his mouth) and he's learning to catch a frisbee. Dad built us a teeter to start working on. Rudy isn't too fond of this. He makes it half way up then jumps off. Maybe he won't be an agility dog, but boy does he love the frisbee!! Rudy adores his Uncle Scout and follow him everywhere.
He loves to play with Scout and while Scout used to tower over Rudy, it is the complete opposite now. Rudy is a biiig boy!
Rudy loves meeting new people and we're working on keeping him form jumping on them. It's a tough lesson for him. He's a huge baby and won't go outside alone...but he loves being outside!

Now that it is finally beginning to warm up a little, Dad has begun to hit golfballs in the backyard and Rudy loves to lay by his grandpa when he's out there! He's a major spazzo. We'll all be sitting quietly watching TV and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, Rudy pops up and runs to the door barking at nothing.

He's a chore, but a fun chore! I get frustrated with him at times. I have an amazing mother who stays home with him during the day, for which I am very thankful.

Alrighty, there's a brief explanation of Rudy for ya! Here are some more pictures!

The Man in My Life...

Okay, so he isn't exactly a man, per say, but he is my best friend. We don't always get along. To be frank, I get upset with him almost every day. I sometimes believe he favors others over me. He never cooperates...ever. He alwaaays has to be difficult and he doesn't know how to share ANYTHING. He never lets me press the snooze button in the morning. He's a pig...always eating anything he can get. He takes up the majority of space in the bed and I have to maneuver around him to sleep. He can be very cranky at times. He's extremely jealous and territorial. He smells most of the time. He's left me once before but I can't let this little man leave. I bawled when I came home to an empty house and I searched until I found him. He can be a pain...but I still love everything about him. He's my best friend, only dog (at the moment), and my life.

Meet my best friend, Scout. :)
This little guy is the one that inspired me to work with dogs. He ran away this summer while I was in Illinois for a few weeks. I came home to a house that was no longer home. This house is only a house without my best friend. I went to church that night, bawling. Tried to control myself, but if you were there you know that didn't work to well. Ended up in the bathroom with my youth pastors wife. I pushed away the tears and came out of the bathroom. After talking about him with some friends, one of the guys said, "Hey, some kids were walking around Westminster with a dog like that..." (Westminster is a tiny little town that is about two minutes from my house) So we went to Westminster. We walked around, knocking on doors until we found the house. They had taken him to the Dog Warden, a.k.a. Doggy Prison. We went to get him the next morning. He had puked all over his "cell" and just seeing him in there broke my heart. We finally got our dog back after 24 painful hours. After this whole incident, I started feeling called to animal care...with dogs specifically. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do with them but I felt the change. At the time, I was planning on becoming a high school English teacher. God had other plans. :)

I love my little man. Although my parents say I don't because I have the desire to get another dog, I will always love him, my best friend. No other dog will ever take him place. I could have a million dogs and my love for him would never change.

Dad's home and Scout's trying to get me to go downstairs.
So this is all, I guess.

God Bless and Goodbye.

Busy, busy, busy!

Sorry I haven't posted...
I've been busy!

I started working at a dog kennel last week. It's awesome, I think I'm really going to enjoy this job.

I have a research paper to write by next week. I can't find enough sources. Somewhat stressed about that.

On a different note, Twilight comes out soon! (A week from tomorrow) I'm pretty excited about that one.

I don't really have much to say...
I guess I should go work on my paper.

Goodbye and God Bless!!!

Family Ties

Well, here's post number two. I just finished a paper for my psychology class tomorrow. Since I finished waaay earlier than expected, I decided to post a new blog. (To be honest...this is actually kinda fun).

Well, I talked about myself a lot so here's a little about my family.

I have a mother (a.k.a. Mom, big stretch, I know). She has a blog: withneedleinhand.blogspot.com.

I have a father (a.k.a. Dad, huge surprise). He also has a blog: billcoulterart.blogspot.com

I have two brothers:
Big Bro #1 has a blog: theshutterbugchef.blogspot.com.
Big Bro #2 does not have a blog.

Big Bro #1 lives in Florida with his girlfriend, who is basically family...I'm having trouble coming up with a name. I'll find one in time. She has a blog: theadventuresofv.blogspot.com

Wow, we all have blogs (except Big Bro #2, of course)

Do you understand why I felt the need to start one??

Time for bed, more later!

Never thought I'd be doing this...

Well, here it is. I, CanineCrazy, have now joined the world of blogging. Seeing that many of my family members are a part of this, I decided I should join also. I guess to start this off I'll tell you a little about myself.

I am in my final year of High School. Working, steadily towards my diploma. The day I receive that little piece of paper will be a day full of great excitement and great fear. I hope to join the other half of my family up North in the great state of Alaska for my two years of college. Whether or not this will actually happen, I have no clue. Only the Big Man knows the answer to that one at this point. Although I know Mom and Dad won't like that arrangement, I am extremely excited at the thought of living somewhere unlike anywhere else I've ever lived. Even so, I'm a tad bit nervous about the idea of moving away from Mom and Dad. Especially that far away. We'll just have to wait and see what happens! Wherever I end up, I'm planning on getting an Associates degree in Business Admin/management. After, I'm planning on attending a six week program at the National K-9 Learning Center. After I become a certified dog trainer, I want to work in a humane society (My dream would be in a huge SPCA). I want to do behavior modification with dogs. This means I would preform temperament tests on all dogs brought to the shelter. The downside of this, I will have to choose to put down some dogs who can not be placed in homes for safety reasons. Sad, but necessary. The upside to this job (and the main reason I want to do it), I will be working with introverted and apprehensive dogs. A lot of the cases I've heard about are dogs rescued from abuse situations. They are often terrified of people. My job would be to socialize the dog and make sure it can handle being in a home. Also, I'd determine what sort of home would be best for the dog (i.e. no other dogs, no small children, etc.) Those are my future plans!

It's late and I have school in the morning, sooo...I guess you'll just have to wait until later to read more!
